Bud Fields, retired from Chrysler Corporation Quality Control after 35 years of service. He is currently the OUTDOOR COLUMNIST for the KOKOMO PERSPECTIVE newspaper where he has a weekly featured column entitled "OUTDOORS WITH BUD." Bud has been involved in fishing since he was about 4 years old (over 60 years) and he competes in between 90-100 bass fishing tournaments a season competing Mondays, Wednesdays. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during the fishing season. Bud is also an avid deer hunter. He has harvested 238 whitetail deer using recurve and compound bows, over 95 deer using muzzeloader and 5 using crossbow. He has TWO Whitetail bucks listed in the Indiana Record Book and BUCKMASTERS Record Book. He is also a certified archery instructor with the Indiana Field Archery Association and the National Field Archery Association as well as being a certified Hunter Safety Education Instructor with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. (He was the FIRST certified Hunter Safety Education Instructor in Cass County in 1972.) Bud has written hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping articles for numerous publications such as MIDWEST OUTDOORS, MIDWEST BOWHUNTER, OUTDOOR LIFE, FIELD and STREAM, RAGHORN, the GADABOUT, BOW and ARROW, ARCHERY WORLD, KOKOMO TRIBUNE, GOOD NEWS and other publications. Has also written for numerous hunting and fishing websites. Bud conducts deer hunting and fishing seminars for area Wal-Mart's, Kmart's, Rural King Stores, Dunham's Sporting Goods Stores, Sportsman's Warehouse Stores and many organizations. He has also made speaking engagements for organizations, churches, retirement centers and youth correction facilities. He is also a classroom instructor and boat captain for the Jim "MOOSE" Carden's Kid's Fishing Clinic in Kokomo, Indiana. Bud Fields and Brian Althouse have been close friends for MANY years. Brian asked Bud if he would be interested in assisting him in running the "ANGLERS DREAM" BASS TOURNAMENT TRAIL on the Mississenewa Reservoir and he anxiously agreed to fish with Brian as his partner and they are anticipating another GREAT fishing season in 2009.
