About Us

The hand-crafted rod you are about to purchase is built by our master craftsman, Mr. Brian Althouse. Like many avid fishermen, Brian has been fishing since he was old enough to pick up a rod. He began building his own lures and flies at age 14. In 2000, after many years of frustration with broken down department store fishing rods, Brian began designing and building hand-crafted, custom built fishing rods for himself and his tournament fishing buddies. He quickly found that by building his rods from true top of the line Rainshadow  Rod Blanks and Forecast components, his rigs greatly outperformed even the highest priced equipment sold in retail stores. Not only did his fishing rods perform better, they were much lighter thus giving his tournament fishing customers the comfort they needed for a long day on the water.

Brian had so much success using his custom made fishing rods that he has become a successful tournament fisherman on the local and regional level. He routinely places in the money and he has sold many of his rods to other tournament fisherman as a result of his success.
